....Waiting

Jesus knows right where you are, and He knows how long you've been there. He knows exactly how much you want this and what it’s worth to you. I stopped praying and I said, “God if you can be bothered to count every hair on my head then you need to come through for me on this one.” If God were to give you what it was you prayed for, would you really be ready for it? (Pause and try and ask and answer yourself honestly) When everything’s going fine in our lives, patience is easy to demonstrate. Our patience is then tested when we’re too kind, when we’ve been waiting for too long and nothing seems to show; and so on. “...let us run with patience the race that is set before us.” - Hebrews 12:1 Does that mean we run a race and wait for the slow ones to catch up? Nope. Patience in this verse translates as “endurance”. “Let us run the race that is set before us with endurance,” taking on the hardships, the trials, the tribulations with a heart full of expectation and thanksgiving knowing the promise will be fulfilled. I have The Lord’s strength to respond with patience when life doesn’t seem to go in the way of my expectation. “To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life” (Romans 2:7)
